SRIHARIKOTA, India, Oct 31, 2026 - The Indian Space Research Organisation has successfully deployed the NVS-03 navigation satellite into its target geosynchronous transfer orbit. [1] The satellite lifted off aboard the GSLV-F18 rocket on 30 October from Satish Dhawan Space Centre. All phases of flight performed as planned. [2] With NVS-03 launched, NavIC now operates 4 active satellites and can deliver accurate positioning data without foreign support, Amar Ujala reports. [3] Space Nugget. Geosynchronous transfer orbit is the standard intermediate path used for navigation and communications satellites. Craft use their own thrusters to move from this elliptical orbit to a fixed position above the Earth's equator.
