A light formation appeared seconds after a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched from Cape Canaveral on a NASA resupply mission on 13 October 2026[^1].

The launch carried an unmanned Dragon spacecraft bound for the International Space Station[^2]. This was a commercial resupply flight operated by SpaceX.

The mission used a fixed launch window aligned with the atmospheric conditions for the observed effect[^3]. The vehicle lifted off from Cape Canaveral Space Station in Brevard County[^4].
