BEIJING, China, Oct. 17, 2026 - Astronomers using China's FAST radio telescope discovered an isolated neutral hydrogen cloud designated J1351+0039 that shows no detected visible stars.

Researchers state that deep observations from Hubble or James Webb Space Telescopes are required to confirm J1351+0039 is truly starless.

Researchers at Trinity College Dublin used observations from NASA's James Webb Space Telescope to investigate SIMP 0136, a brown dwarf located approximately 20 light-years from Earth.
