Petr Horalek won the 'Our Moon' category at the 2026 ZWO Astronomy Photographer of the Year with an image of a lunar occultation of Venus.

The competition was hosted by the Royal Observatory Greenwich in London.

The winning image depicts Venus disappearing behind the Moon during a lunar occultation that lasted roughly one hour on September 19, 2025.

Radoslav Sviretsov, a Bulgarian astrophotographer, won first place in the 'Aurorae' category of the ZWO Astronomy Photographer of the Year Award.
